"mirrorball"

I love the song “mirrorball” by Taylor Swift. Maybe I do because I relate to the lyrics. I love how she metaphorically compares herself to something so beautiful yet so fragile .  When I think of a “mirrorball,” I envision a disco ball hanging high above everyone on a dance floor. To me it is something shiny with sparkles that lights up a room of people who hold their own dreams and stories.  If I am being honest, I am not sure how to approach this blog post, but I know I want to illustrate how this song connects to me.  I want you to know I'm a mirrorball I'll show you every version of yourself tonight I'll get you out on the floor Shimmering beautiful And when I break it's in a million pieces “I’ll show you every version of yourself tonight” A mirrorball has numerous glass pieces around its shape that reflect the individual who is looking at it. Reflection of Self Poem

HI! School has been super overwhelming lately, and I learned this year that taking time to myself is super important. I have not had that much time to write, so here is a poem I wrote in my Creative Writing II class. It is my Empowerment Poem. I hope you like it! :)) Reflection of Self Some people see themselves as confident . Some people see themselves as weak . There are people who see themselves as beautiful . There are people who see themselves as lame and shameful . When asked “ how do you describe yourself? ” Individuals may announce “ successful. ” Others may reply “ just another being. ” Or, “ just getting through .”  But is this really their own reflection of self ? Mirror mirror on wall  Am I going to rise or fall?  Will I be pretty today? Will I be smart today? Will I be enough today for others, for myself? Here is a reminder that your mental and physical health are so important. Take a deep breath. You matter.  ♡
