I am a Child of...

Hi! I am honestly not sure what to make my first blog post about...

I know I love writing. So, here is a poem I wrote in AP Lang this year that shows just how much I love it!

The original poem is titled "Child of the Americas" by Aurora Levins Morales.

I am a Child of Writing

By Anna Flynn

I am a child of writing,

A tan- skinned Bostonian in Massachusetts,

A child of two creative parents, who I feel carried this trait down to me.

I am a  woman who loves to draw pictures through words,

5 A product of a poet for a father and story writer for a mother.

An educated journalist you might say.

I  write about my anxieties: I believe it might help others,

My pencil is a wand giving life to the words that describe my emotions.

I am young, still living. Passion is my drive,

10 Speaking my fire inside through my voice, I call it my instrument:

The power of the female gender,

The power of expression, the ability to tell your audience how you feel.

I am motivated to inspire others, since I am inspired by authors I read:

I write what I feel moves, not just myself, others.

15 I am not my stress. Panic is in me, but I have the ability to remain calm.

I am not my tension. Uneasiness is in me, but I can fight it.

I am able to reach my dreams. Nerves live in me, but I am stronger.

I am well worded. Dedication made me. My favorite writing is stories.

I was born to a father with a heart full of love for literature and music.

20 And I am the one who carries this into the next generation.
